Camilo Olives
Joan educated us as to the finer points of olive oil production and we tasted Camilo oil having first warmed it slightly in our palm. We then tasted cheaper brands which were incomparable.

  • Olive oil doesn’t improve with age; keep away from light, heat and oxygen
  • Pure is best, refined oil has little nutritional benefit or anti-oxidants left after processing
  • Buy green rather than clear glass bottles, or foil-lined casks
  • Balanced oils- blending of various types, is an art
  • Look for year of harvest of olives; buy freshest
  • Australian Industry is new, so 95% is extra virgin olive oil
  • Camilo Oils have won numerous awards
