We attended a presentation by the Volunteer Coast Guard based at Queenscliff.

Their motto is “safety by. all means”.

Our thanks go to Flotilla Commander Michael Donohue and his team for hosting us that evening.

It was very interesting to hear that all team members are Volunteers who perform many boat rescues in the Queenscliff Port area and in Port Phillip Bay and the Heads area.

We were also escorted to the boat that is used in rescues and had the opportunity to ask many questions about the boat itself and all equipment that contributes to safe rescues.

The evening was completed by enjoying fine wines and a delicious supper provided by the Rotarians present
