We had a great night at The Navy Club on Tuesday, at East Geelong RC’s Footy Colours Night.
Around 30 people had the pleasure of listening to Renae Garing ex Geelong AFLW player, telling us about her journey to play for the Cats.
She was a great speaker and very inspirational.
We then had a Q&A session with Mark Yates ex Geelong AFL player, again very entertaining.
All funds raised were for the Fight Cancer Foundation _ a wonderful cause.
Thanks to Warren from East Geelong RC for organizing the night. Also, to Ian for opening up the Navy Club and running the bar and to Jo for helping to liaise with The Navy Club for Warren.
I had many East Geelong members tell me what a great venue we have at The Navy Club, and I thoroughly agree.
It is important that we leave the venue in a clean and tidy condition after our meetings and a huge thanks to all who helped on Tuesday night.
I received a lovely thank you letter from Warren to all Bayside members, which I will forward to you all via email.
We have agreed to sponsor 2 events coming up in the next few months.
Carols in the Park, in Highton on December 15th, and Friend in Me Family Day on Saturday 15th of February.
Both events also give us the opportunity of running a BBQ. We will be working with other local Rotary Clubs for these 2 events, which will be great.
