Pres. Peter K introduced Daryll for his Behind the Badge.
My father Neil and mother Joyce (Oliver) both had ancestors from South Australia.
They were married in 1954 while Neil was a trainee Methodist minister.
I was born in 1956 while Neil was posted to Swifts Creek in the High Country of Victoria and afterwards we shifted to serial postings in Penquin (Tas), Preston and Meethakara (WA).
I began primary school there and later we moved on to Pakenham, Eaglehawk and Geelong. While at Pakenham I started piano lessons to improve my finger movements and in Eaglehawk I almost completed my secondary education.
The last two months of my education there was by correspondence at home while recuperating from a car accident.
While in Eaglehawk I worked in a butcher shop after school.

I joined the Ford Motor Company in Geelong in Stamping Plant as a Data Collection Officer.
Later I moved to the Accounts Payable department and later while in the Payroll department I met Diane.
We were engaged in 1980 and married in 1981.
In the late eighties I was appointed as Tooling Coordinator for the new EA26 Falcon program.
From there I was appointed Local Supply Analyst for the Capri construction program designed to export cars to the US. (Photo of Australian Capri for the US)
I had always been active in my Church and when the opportunity arose I took on a position as a Pastoral Carer at the Peter McCallum Cancer Hospital.
Since then I have qualified and practised as a Marriage Celebrant here in Geelong.
I am active within the VCC Emergencies Ministries at present.
I joined National Tiles at this time and have been there for about ten years.
I have been President of Bayside Rotary twice and I am proud to have been involved in its community projects and have always sought to ensure members enjoy working for these projects.
Diane and I have enjoyed international travel since our first trip to the UK in 1986 and travelling around in a rent-a-Ford.
Since then we have been to Tahiti, Vanuatu, Thailand, Singapore, Canada, Alaska and lots of places in Australia.
