Thank you so much to Judy & Phil Beasley for opening their home once again and hosting our Melbourne Cup Evening.

I am sure everyone enjoyed the evening with our Back to Front Sweep, (won by Dave the bookie) and the three races (that wouldn’t have stopped a nation), with a very excited race caller, and Fashions on the field.

Our bookie, Dashing Dave and side kick Peter did a great job when the call went out to Place Your Bets Please.

Bets large and small were placed and it looked like Brian B was heading for the winner’s circle.

But never count your chickens before they hatch! Late starter Marilyn F raced ahead to take home first place followed closely by our AG Judy in second place and then a close third was Terry Hanrahan. 

I am sure they will all enjoy their prize.

There was no doubt who the Fashion awards for the evening would go too.

Bev Burch took the prize wearing a classic navy & white number, topped with French navy fascinator and the Man of the Evening award went to Peter K, wearing black and rust with an accent of silver, but the top hat was the winner.
Wonderful supper was enjoyed by all, thank you to all the contributed.
